Gold
Gold is a beautiful strong precious metal that will not discolour, oxidise or react with your skin making it ideal for everyday wear.
9ct gold is 37,5% pure, other metals are added to the pure gold to give it strength and durability. For our shop, we use 9ct gold which scratches less and is more affordable.
18ct gold is 75% pure and more expensive as it contains a higher percentage of pure gold, great for wedding rings or other high end jewellery pieces.
Maintenance
To clean your gold, soak in warm water with a few drops of dish liquid soap then use a soft toothbrush to clean any remaining dirt. Rinse with water afterwards to remove any residue.
Gold Vermeil
Pronounced ver-may, this is not to be confused with regular gold plating. Gold vermeil is a much thicker coating of gold that is legally regulated to maintain a certain quality of jewellery. In order for a piece of jewellery to be considered gold vermeil:
1. It must have sterling silver as the base material.
2. Be plated in at least 10k (10 Karats).
3. The plating must be at least 2.5 microns thick. Traditional gold plating is usually around 0.5 microns thick and can wear off quite quickly compared to gold vermeil.
Maintenance
We recommend dipping a piece of lint free cloth into water with a dash of dish liquid soap and using it to gently rub away any dirt build up, unlike solid gold or silver try not to use a brush to clean. Try keep your gold vermeil away from any lotions, perfumes and oils or pool chlorine.
Sterling Silver
Sterling silver is an alloy of silver made from 92,5% silver and 7,5% copper or other metals. These metals are added to make the resulting compound less soft and more durable. Our silver can also be gold plated to make it a bit more durable, but this does eventually fade.
Maintenance
There are many DONT’S when it comes to silver-like water, showering, sweating, putting on make-up or perfume, too much exposure to the air or even your body’s natural oils. These will cause silver to oxidise over time. When not wearing your silver store it in a dark dry place preferably in a closed bag protected from the air.
Diamonds
Naturally occurring, made or carbon and formed under intense pressure diamonds are the hardest mineral on earth scoring a 10 on Moh’s scale of hardness.
All our diamonds are ethically sourced and conflict free, everything in our online shop is I-J colour and VS-SI clarity. In our bespoke section you can request any size and grade of diamond to suite your needs and budget.
The ultimate symbol of love and forever a girl’s best friend.
Maintenance
To clean your diamond, soak in warm water with a few drops of dish liquid soap then use a soft toothbrush to clean any remaining dirt. Rinse with water afterwards to remove any residue.
Gemstones
Our Gemstones are the real deal, with some rarer than others our strong supply chain gives us access to huge variety of beautiful stones, each with their own unique character and colour.
Maintenance
Some gemstone don’t respond well to extreme temperatures, to clean use warm water with a few drops of dish liquid soap, a soft tooth brush will remove any remaining dirt but be careful not to scrub too hard as some gemstones are soft and scratch easy.
Pearls
A natural pearl is formed when an irritant enters the oyster, as its defence mechanism it secretes a fluid that adds layer upon layer to coat the irritant until the lustrous pearl is formed. Whether you looking for fresh or salt water pearls we’ve got you.
Maintenance
Avoid letting your pearls come in contact with cosmetics, perfume or hair spray. Ideally put them on last when getting dressed. Wipe them gently with a soft cloth and lukewarm water. Pearls like to be worn, if they are locked up too long they will lose their sheen and become dull
